The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Government Services Engineering (GSE) organization is seeking a Mid-Level Manufacturing Planner to support the Tankers Programs (KC-46 and KC-135) in Jacksonville, FL. This position is in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) manufacturing environment. In the role you will plan and lead department/organization processes for developing, implementing and maintaining various manufacturing installation plans, Bill of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration in a repair/modification environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.

  • Develops manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.

  • Develops and integrates suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.

  • Reviews and approves supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met.

  • Develops tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.

  • Manages tools from initial design to end of use disposition.

  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing related issues.

  • Performs producibility assessments for part or product designs.

  • Provides producibility input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.

  • Develops integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.

  • Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Shift: This position supports first shift with the potential to work other shifts as necessary to support future business needs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years related work experience in a manufacturing or aerospace operations environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience in understanding and interpreting engineering drawings for intent and requirements 

  • 3+ years of experience in producing detailed production or modification planning and owning and managing build plans throughout the value stream

  • Ability to clearly communicate engineering intent and requirements to the site operations team executing the aircraft modification or repair

  • Ability to work under general supervision with basic instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new lines of work or special assignments

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., associate's degree) and typically 1+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., bachelor's degree, 3+ years related work experience, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years related work experience in a manufacturing engineering planning or aircraft manufacturing operations role or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience producing detailed aircraft work instructions and owning and managing build plans throughout the value stream

  • Prior knowledge of aircraft systems; specific knowledge of the 767, 707, KC-46, and/or KC-135 platforms is a plus

  • Knowledge of and experience using Boeing engineering software packages/applications (e.g., GOLDesp, ENOVIA, IVT, CATIA, REDARs, etc.)

  • Comfortable and knowledgeable working in a ship side support, rapid reaction force role to support the aircraft modification or repair

  • Ability to work in an emergent environment to mitigate production stops through fabrication

  • Ability to manage independent work activities with minimal supervision within a team environment
