Looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team in Kalgoorlie carrying out workshop and site based fitting duties to all forms of rotating equipment, including pumps, valves, cyclones.

The work includes strip, rebuild, assessing, overhauls and machining of materials / castings within close tolerances to drawings and all other duties as directed by Leading Hands and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

  • Stripping, repairing, and reporting on pumps on our client sites across the goldfields region

  • Maintaining and repairing all products in accordance with the Service Centre Quality Manual.

  • Making recommendations for improvements to current products, services, and procedures.

  • Be fully and actively involved in implementing the Weir Production System at their Rebuild Centre

  • Visiting mine sites during shutdown periods to provide additional support.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Cert III - Mechanical Engineering

  • 6-12 months of relevant experience with pumps or similar products

  • Relevant mine site experience required

  • Current Drivers License - (MR preferred) is required

  • Must be able to provide a current police check

  • High-risk Forklift License preferred

  • Crane operators’ ticket and Doggers ticket - desirable
