The Department

The Mechanical Engineering team is one of the teams in the Research and Development organization for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). This group is committed to developing breakthrough technologies, systems and modules that enable us to deliver innovative TEM microscopes for our demanding markets and customers. The Position

As Mechanical Intern Engineer you will join an enthusiastic and driven team responsible for all mechanical aspects of our High-End TEM modules or sub-systems.

In your project you can see your designs grow from a conceptual idea to a tangible solution for our customers. Your challenge will be to find solutions for technological sophisticated problems, meeting the needs of multiple technical discipline, whilst satisfying business goals. The position will allow you to grow both in technical and business skills. We will challenge you to get the best out of yourself!

You will report directly to the group manager of the Mechanical team within the TEM R&D organization.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze and test mechanical performance of systems and modules
  • Perform mechanical simulations in structural, thermal and dynamics domain
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers covering multiple competences (mechatronics, electrical, thermal, dynamics)

Qualifications

A successful candidate possesses the following combination of education and experience:

  • University or HBO student in the field of mechanical engineering
  • Experience with software tools such asUX, ANSYS and Matlab or equivalent experience
  • Practical hands-on experience in this field is a plus
