About the Role
The candidate is responsible for researching and developing acoustic systems for Harman Consumer Products like Headphone, TWS, OWS and wearable acoustic products.
What You Will Do
- Support Harman Consumer Audio Business Unit through relentless NPI project execution to meet SOP commitment to deliver “Industry-First” products.
- Research new acoustic components or solutions or platform to make Harman Products unique. Like signal flow design, driver technology, adaptive ANC, immersive audio and so on.
- Responsible for acoustics and ANC architecture design of consumer products, responsible for sound quality and ANC performance of consumer headphones and wearable products.
- Defining acoustic requirement, developing acoustic concepts and specifications, interacting with related functions as required.
- work with supplier and cross function to review the headphone design proposal and evaluate the feasibility.
- Arrange product architecture validation before tooling start.
- Conduct acoustic verification and sound approval.
- Help sound quality engineer for sound quality control.
What You Need to Be Successful
- BS or above degree in Acoustic.
- Solid headphone acoustic system or acoustic component research and development experience. like driver design, acoustic simulation, acoustic system design and so on.
- 5+ years of experience in running an Acoustic team to support large-scale consumer audio business.
- Proficient in acoustic theory, acoustic testing, acoustic simulation, and signal processing.
- Familiar with acoustic related algorithms and digital signal processing.
- Good experience at audio product development like Soundbar, Headphone, Smart Speaker, Conference System, hearing aid etc.
- Good experience on audio tools usage like Klipple, Soundcheck, Comsol etc.
- Experience at sound tuning and Golden ears.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Supervise team to publish technical papers on reputable magazines or technical journals.
