Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Steam Maintenance – II to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties on high-pressure, high-temperature steam systems in a large-scale generating station environment. The incumbent will ensure all assigned work complies with applicable technical manuals, safety standards, and operational procedures to maintain reliability and mission readiness.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Installs, maintains, and repairs steam boilers, pipes, valves, and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, plumbing, and electrical failures in steam systems, utilizing a variety of testing equipment and tools.
Conducts regular preventive maintenance inspections and services on steam systems to extend equipment life and improve reliability.
Maintains accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including logs, reports, and service histories.
Adheres to all safety regulations and practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
3-5 years of experience in Steam Systems
Proficiency in the use of maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and software related to mechanical maintenance and repair.
Strong understanding of steam systems, pressure regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 70 pounds.
Frequently required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work requires repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
