Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Power Generation Equipment responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power generation systems and equipment. This position ensures that generators, power distribution systems, and related mechanical and electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards. The mechanic plays a key role in supporting continuous, reliable power to facilities and operations.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Diagnose mechanical failures and identify the necessary repairs or replacements required to maintain the proper functionality of equipment.
Perform repairs on generators, engines, and related systems, including electrical and control components.
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, and update maintenance management systems as required.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing job duties.
Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree required
3-5 years of experience in power plant technology
Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, electrical systems, and various power generation components.
Ability to identify and resolve complex problems with power generation equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 70 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
