Job Summary
The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 790,000 net unconventional acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 180,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.Position Overview
If you are selected as the Bakken Measurement Technician, your role will involve ensuring that contract obligations and lease agreements are in alignment with metering, testing, calibration, and sampling. These tasks must adhere to ConocoPhillips Measurement Policies and Procedures. As a Measurement Technician, you will primarily carry out your responsibilities at the central tank battery locations and associated well sites located throughout North Dakota.
This position can be based out of Watford City, New Town, or Dunn Center, ND.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
Your responsibilities may include:
Schedule and maintain various types of measurement equipment relevant to the petroleum industry which will include installation, calibration, trouble shooting and repair
Maintain and repair measurement stations and associated equipment, including but not limited to: Electronic Flow Meters (EFM), Ultrasonic Meters (USM), Meter Tubes, Gas Chromatographs, Radio Communications, PD Meters, Coriolis Meters, Mass Flow Meters, Auxiliary Pressure Transmitters
Work independently at times
Operate under a supplied air system and successfully complete the ConocoPhillips respiratory program
Witnessing of 3rd party meter tests and/or meter proving
Overseeing contractor work and scheduling
Operating and Maintenance of water pipeline system
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Current/valid driver's license
1 or more years of experience with preventative, predictive or corrective maintenance
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
Currently reside or are willing to relocate within a 50-mile driving radius of Watford City, New Town, or Dunn Center, ND
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work occasional overtime and on weekends
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work an 8/6 Wednesday to Wednesday day schedule
Willing and able to perform/align with following (with or without reasonable accommodation): Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions; Work in several different geographic locations throughout a single work day; Work both in and out of a company-owned vehicle; Wear appropriate special safety equipment; Climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanks; Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull; Use hand tools to make minor repairs
Preferred:
3 or more years of experience in Measurement in the oil and gas industry
Basic level of knowledge of AGA-3 1992 & 2013 Standards, API 14.3, and GPA 2166-86
Basic level of knowledge of BLM and NDIC Rules and Regulations in oil and gas industry
Basic level of knowledge with AGA-7
Basic level of proficiency with Fisher ROC 107 and 800
Basic level of proficiency with Electronic Flow Measurement systems and components
Basic level of knowledge of PD Meters, Ultrasonic Flow Meters, and Coriolis Meters
Mechanically inclined with good technical troubleshooting skills
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
