Torch Dental is a high-growth, venture-backed vertical SaaS company transforming how dental practices run their businesses. Our mission is to give every dental office the modern software, automation, and visibility they need to operate efficiently and profitably. 
 
We are launching our second product in 2026 and will be expanding into the broader practice-operations layers such as Finance, HR, payroll, benefits, and back-office workflows—building toward a full dental practice operating system.
 
Torch Dental is at the Series B stage with strong revenue growth, rapidly expanding products, and increasingly exciting engineering challenges. This role is an opportunity to lead the engineering team that architects and maintains the platform that services thousands of dental practices.
 

Role Mission:

The Chief of Staff Intern will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping to translate vision into reality. Your goal is to maximize the CEO’s impact by overseeing high-priority initiatives, conducting deep-dive research into new market opportunities, and ensuring the leadership team stays aligned on key deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & New Initiative Launch
    • Market Analysis: Conduct rigorous research on emerging trends in HealthCare Tech and AI to identify "blue sky" opportunities for Torch.
    • Business Case Development: Build financial models and pitch decks for potential new service lines or product features.
    • Go-to-Market Support: Assist in the initial "zero-to-one" phase of new projects, coordinating between engineering, sales, and operations to ensure a smooth launch.
  • Executive Support & Communication
    • CEO Liaison: Act as a "proxy" for the CEO in internal meetings, ensuring the CEO’s vision is clearly communicated and understood across the organization.
    • Special Projects: Handle "hand-off" tasks from the CEO that require high-level business judgment, from drafting board-level communications to evaluating potential partnerships.
    • Operational Support: Streamline the Office of the CEO by refining internal processes, managing high-priority correspondence, and preparing the CEO for key external engagements.
  • Strategic Execution & Initiative Management
    • Project Management: Drive the execution of "Must-Win" strategic initiatives, ensuring they stay on schedule and involve the right cross-functional stakeholders.
    • KPI Tracking: Develop and monitor dashboards to track the health of company-wide goals (OKRs), identifying bottlenecks before they impact performance.
    • Meeting Optimization: Facilitate leadership meetings by setting agendas, capturing action items, and holding executives accountable for follow-ups.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA program.
  • Experience: 3–6 years of pre-MBA experience in management consulting, private equity, ventures, capital investment banking, high-growth startups.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel/Google Sheets) and the ability to turn complex data into a narrative.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence senior leaders without having direct authority.
  • Mindset: A "no task too small" attitude combined with the ability to think 30,000 feet up. You are proactive, highly organized, and thrive in ambiguity.
