About you and the role:
SailPoint is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a front-end team for the Identity Product. This Engineering team has the responsibility and technical expertise to drive the feature development amongst the broader Identity Product Engineering team to help ensure that our customers are provided timely and high-quality releases for Identity Product.
This responsibility includes oversight a team of UI Engineers and QA Engineers. You will work with Product Managers to ensure business requirements are understood, estimated, developed, tested, and released to our customers.
To lead this team, we are looking to bring on an experienced and motivational manager who will be responsible for leading all aspects of Identity Product which relate to how our customers utilize the product to solve their complex identity and access management challenges in unique ways. A background in Agile software development environment is preferred.
This is a high-visibility leadership role with deep organization exposure, influence and ownership of mission-critical systems.

What You’ll Make Happen:
Listen to what your team needs to deliver better UI software, then proactively do those things.
Partner with Product Management to ensure your teams have clear tactical and strategic backlogs.
Balance competing priorities to ensure we effectively ship new features while resolving defects and managing technical debt.
Introduce, run, tweak, and optimize team project management processes, as the principal owner of your team’s delivery.
Recruit, coach, develop, and motivate high performing front-end developers.
Proactively seek to listen and find alignment with other engineering teams and stakeholders by understanding your teams’ technology, building strong relationships, and insisting on high-quality solutions that solve multiple strategic challenges at once.

Role Requirements:
2+ years in a Software Engineering Management role on front-end web applications
5+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer
Deep knowledge of and experience with agile processes and workflows
Technical experience and fluency in front-end architecture, enabling easy discussions with engineers
Experience handling multiple stakeholders’ concerns live, in meetings, with aplomb
Excellent communication skills
UI tech stack:
Frameworks/Languages: Angular (13+) or React, Typescript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML , NodeJS
Testing Frameworks: Cypress, Jest, Selenium
CI/CD: Cloudbees, Jenkins, AWS
Pluses (or Things You’ll Learn on the Job):
Experience tuning and optimizing team processes using qualitative & quantitative feedback
Experience implementing & maintaining a feedback-driven culture where it is routine to ask for feedback on performance
Experience on teams shipping SaaS products for consumers or businesses
Experience working with a global team
