Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing a team of sales professionals serving new and existing customers in Hunterdon, Morris, Mercer, Sussex and Warren Counties. The manager of sales will manage all Strategic, New Construction, Commercial and Residential Projects within ETG’s franchise territory. The sales manager is responsible for leading Elizabethtown Gas’s efforts to promote the installation of natural gas appliances in strategic, commercial, residential and new construction markets within our service territory to ensure safe and reliable energy solutions for our customers. This leadership role leads, motivates, and manages our Northwest territory, as well as maintaining a close alliance with other ETG Department Managers to support ETG’s growth and customer service goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively lead efforts to grow natural gas installations in residential, commercial and new construction markets.
Support the sales team in building and maintain strong partnerships with builders, developers, and trade allies.
Create and maintain relationships with elected officials and engineers in our territory to develop business, pursue the Company’s interests, and plan a pipeline of projects. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders throughout the construction cycle, ensuring clear communication of utility requirements and timelines.
Coordinate internal teams across departments—Design, Engineering, Permitting, Construction, Utility and Street (Asset)—to align on project needs and deliver excellent customer service.
Monitor development activity and zoning trends to anticipate and pursue future growth
Support the integration of GIS and Salesforce to target new opportunities and manage accounts effectively.
Track progress against sales goals, support team development, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Conduct ride-a-longs and site visits with account managers for the purpose of mentoring and evaluating performance.
Actively participates in chamber of commerce, municipal, and builder events.
Support and work with our Energy Efficiency Department to promote the energy efficiency benefits of using natural gas appliances.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
8 years of experience in new construction project management, real estate development, or a related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in sales, business development, or client relations
In addition, a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
Or a Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
