The Research Centre for Residue and Toxic Industrial Waste Management (TREASURES) at NTU is seeking a Manager (Research Strategy & Operations). This is a pivotal role for a PhD-qualified professional to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.
Reporting directly to the Centre Directors, the incumbent will orchestrate the operations of a multi-disciplinary research centre. The appointee is expected to move beyond general administration to actively manage the research lifecycle—spanning project initiation and grant compliance to industry test-bedding and final reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Management: Track technical milestones across four research nodes, ensuring projects stay on schedule and on budget.
Grant Management: Lead the preparation of progress reports for NEA, managing grant variations, claims, and compliance audits.
Industry Liaison: Engage with industry partners to define problem statements and facilitate the translation of lab-scale innovations into pilot trials.
Operational Leadership: Oversee the Centre’s administrative, financial, and HR functions, supervising a team of support staff.
Requirements:
PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required to understand the technical scope of the Centre.
Minimum 5 years of experience in research management or R&D operations.
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality technical grant reports and proposals.
Strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders (Government agencies, Industry, Academics).
