Manager, Postgraduate and Continuing Education

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) aims to enhance its Graduate (Coursework) programme offerings and further develop its professional development capabilities through the SkillsFuture scheme.

The Manager, Postgraduate and Continuing Education will be responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of student and academic services related to the taught Master’s programmes within the College. The incumbent will oversee programme administration and ensure the timely delivery of information and services to faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Admissions

  • Process and review postgraduate applications.

  • Oversee the planning and monitoring of admissions progress to ensure timely completion of admission cycles.

  • Monitor application and intake numbers, and recommend actions to moderate or boost enrolment as needed.

  • Plan and execute marketing outreach, student orientation, and information sessions.

  • Collaborate closely with various internal departments across the University on admissions and student matters.

Programme Operations

  • Oversee administrative and operational aspects of the programme, including academic advising, course proposal submissions, timetabling, budgeting, and process improvements.

  • Provide administrative support to faculty, adult learners, students, and alumni.

  • Drive continuous review and enhancement of operational processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Continuing Education and Training (CET) Courses

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth planning and delivery of CET courses.

  • Oversee operational support including enrolment, budgeting, billing, payments, adjunct hiring, and class scheduling.

  • Manage CET-related enquiries and administrative processes under the SkillsFuture scheme.

  • Drive process optimisation and operational improvements for CET delivery.

Publicity, Outreach and Event Support

  • Lead publicity and outreach efforts for Graduate (Coursework) programmes in consultation with senior management and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

  • Oversee website content management, programme collaterals, and digital marketing materials for recruitment purposes.

  • Support planning and coordination of seminars, workshops, and other programme-related events.

Budget and Reporting

  • Manage programme budgets and monitor expenditure for Graduate (Coursework) programmes.

  • Prepare reports and updates on programme performance as required.

Additional Operations Support

  • Provide additional operational support to programme activities as required, including assistance with administrative coordination, data collation, and event or project support to ensure smooth programme delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Humanities, Social Sciences, or Business Administration.

  • At least 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience in a higher education institution or in the management of professional/continuing education programmes.

  • At least 3 years of experience in team leadership or people management.

  • Prior experience in event management and content creation for marketing purposes (website and social media).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with online communication tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
