Reporting to the Head of People & Culture NoAM, the Manager, People & Culture Coordination will be responsible for managing a team of People & Culture Coordinators (PCCs) supporting North America. The focus would be on ensuring accuracy of the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture functions to ensure our department is organized and operating efficiently. The successful candidate will also partner closely with the People Business Partners, Payroll & Benefits and People Ops team members, on employee lifecycle administration projects from onboarding, policy reviews to HRIS data integrity and reporting. 

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Manage, train  and coach our team of North American People & Culture Coordinators located in Canada and Manila (ā€œPCCsā€)
  • Supervise employee lifecycle support and administration being conducted by the PCC team (new hire paperwork, employee onboarding, role/salary changes, employee profile updates, time off management, leaves and terminations).
  • Bring a  global mindset in order to create process flows that fit with the global approach 
  • Define and track SLAs for the PCC team (e.g., contract turnaround times, ticket response rates in ServiceNow) to ensure the business receives high-quality, timely support.
  • Act as the functional "power user" for Workday, ensuring the team isn't just entering data, but auditing it for accuracy to prevent downstream payroll or reporting errors.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive "Playbook" for all P&C administrative procedures, ensuring consistency globally.
  • Beyond just "owning audits," provide regular insights to the Head of P&C on team volume, common "bottlenecks" in the employee lifecycle, and data trends.
  • Bring up new ways of working, workflows, processes, focusing on efficiency 
  • Oversee the coordination of employee programs being run by the PCCs that may include training, recognition, DEI, volunteering, and wellness programs 
  • Review documentation being created by PCCs; for example documentation for current and future-state people processes and workflows connected to the employee lifecycle, people data, systems and technology.
  • Identify, recommend and proactively take initiative for process and workflow improvements that will allow us to scale and support our significant growth goals.
  • Support global compliance efforts through close collaboration with our Legal team. 
  • Provide general administrative support to the People team and take on special People projects as needed.

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of HR Coordinators
  • Strong project management skills and systems thinking to re-engineer workflows 
  • Experience with Workday and a strong understanding of their workflows
  • Proven experience in Human Resources Operations
  • University degree in Human Resources  or equivalent experience
  • Discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to use and learn a variety of programs, including (but not limited to): Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets/Docs, Greenhouse (ATS), Service Now (SN)
  • Strong Data Literacy and a knack for Excel 
  • Familiarity with Canadian & US compliance and employment laws
  • Excellent sense of urgency, time management and organizational skills
  • As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

Even better (but not necessary) if you have:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in French
  • Experience with HR systems, handling sensitive data and sensitive documentation

At Lightspeed, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your skill set, qualifications, experience, and market data. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $99,000 - 110,000 CAD. Lightspeed also provides a variety of employee benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top-up, and paid time off.
