Location/Division Specific Information

This position is based in Richardson, Texas. You will coordinate Manufacturing Engineering, ensuring quality, engineering rigor, and effective communication within Richardson Operations. Our factory produces high-complexity analytical products for semiconductor designers and manufacturers.

How will you make an impact?

You will be part of a team responsible for preserving existing product lines and introducing new products. This role collaborates with New Product Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Global Technical Support groups. The Operations Engineering team implements quality, cost, and process improvements to increase customer happiness.

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of contractors, interns, and engineers to complete strategic objectives.
  • Maintain communication and mentor team members on common processes.
  • Give to the Richardson Operations Engineering strategy.
  • Work with R&D to drive service and factory requirements.
  • Guide teams through problem-solving processes.
  • Approve engineering change orders.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships.
  • Apply PPI tools to lead efficiency, scrap reduction, process improvement, and cost improvement projects.

How will you get here?

Education, Experience

  • University degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-tech industry environment.
  • 4+ years of people managment experience.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept to production release.
  • Experience leading new product introductions and multi-functional projects.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing and/or service.
  • Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to mentor and develop engineers.
  • Comfortable leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of core technologies including vacuum, SEM, optics development, motion control, and process automation.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Failure Analysis applications.
  • Ability to plan and resolve issues involving multi-functional, multi-cultural groups.
