Manager I Accounting

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting operations for the LATAM region, ensuring compliance with IFRS and US GAAP. The role requires managing a team to deliver accurate financial reporting and close processes, while fostering improvements and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review financial statements and subsidiary schedules for compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinate the distribution of financial information and communicate effectively with clients to meet contract requirements.
• Lead and coordinate external audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
• Evaluate and enhance internal controls, ensuring alignment with team goals and industry standards.
• Stay updated on technical accounting and software issues relevant to the industry.
• Communicate departmental goals, developing strategies for implementation.
• Manage bank reconciliations, trial balances, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, and P&L and balance sheet variances.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience in a large multinational company is desirable, with essential knowledge of end-to-end processes.
• Proven experience managing teams, especially during periods of substantial change.
• Track record of leading continuous improvement projects.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High proficiency in English (B2 - C1 level), both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, remotely, and flexibly to meet reporting deadlines.
