Job Summary
To lead and manage PruBSN’s internal and external corporate communications, ensuring clear, consistent, and strategically aligned messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints.
This role is accountable for safeguarding and strengthening PruBSN’s reputation through effective internal communication, media engagement, sponsorship and event management, and proactive crisis communication planning and execution.
The Manager, Corporate Communications operates within the Digital, Brand & Communications function and reports directly to the Director. The role works closely with Senior Leadership, Brand, Social & Digital, Data & Analytics, HR, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and strong reputation management. While Brand leads campaign narrative and Digital drives engagement, this role owns corporate narrative governance, reputation management, leadership communications, and crisis response coordination.
Key Responsibility
1. Corporate Communications Strategy
Develop and execute corporate communication strategies aligned with organisational priorities, leadership direction, and brand positioning.

2. Internal Communications
Lead internal communications to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with company strategy, initiatives, and changes.
This includes town halls, leadership messaging, organizational updates, and change communications.

3. External Communications & Media Relations
Manage media relations, press releases, corporate announcements, and public statements.
Serve as liaison with media partners and ensure accurate and consistent external representation.

4. Crisis Communications Management
Develop and maintain crisis communication frameworks, including escalation protocols, holding statements, and response guidelines.
Lead coordination of communication during issues or crises in collaboration with Leadership, Compliance, and relevant stakeholders to protect organisational reputation.
Conduct periodic reviews and simulations to ensure crisis readiness and communication preparedness.

5. Sponsorship Strategy & Management
Plan and manage corporate sponsorship initiatives aligned with brand positioning and corporate objectives.

6. Corporate, CSR & Sponsorship Events & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead planning and execution of corporate, CSR, and sponsorship events aligned with corporate strategy and brand positioning.
Provide strategic recommendations on event participation and sponsorship opportunities to maximise visibility, stakeholder engagement, and reputational impact.

7. Corporate Narrative & Governance
Safeguard and govern PruBSN’s corporate narrative across all touchpoints, including leadership communications, press releases, speeches, agency circulars, customer letters, and digital channels.
Ensure consistency of messaging, tone, and positioning while maintaining regulatory and compliance adherence.

8. Corporate Merchandising
Oversee governance of corporate promotional items and merchandising to ensure alignment with brand identity and quality standards.
Provide guidance to stakeholders and vendors on branding, design standards, and fulfilment processes. Ensure appropriate tracking, inventory oversight, and cost control mechanisms are maintained.

9. Industry Relations (MTA, PRULIA, BNM, etc) and Agency Related initiatives.
Represent PruBSN in relevant industry forums and associations (e.g., MTA, PRULIA, BNM engagements) as assigned. Coordinate internal feedback, consolidate official positions, and submit responses to industry bodies in alignment with corporate strategy. Support industry-related initiatives and engagement programmes involving internal stakeholders and agency partners.

Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business or related field
5-8 years of experience in corporate communications, PR, or stakeholder engagement
Proven experience managing media relations and crisis communications
Experience handling sponsorships and corporate events
Strong writing, editorial, and messaging skills
Experience in regulated industries is preferred
Strong stakeholder and leadership management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
