What you'll be doing
As a Manager, Commercial Banking Records Management, you will be responsible for contributing to projects that impact the business through in-depth research, analysis, interpretation, documentation, and advice on moderately complex business information, with an emphasis on records and information management. You will apply subject matter expertise in records management to consult with the business on process improvements, leading the technical development to deliver high-quality records management processes and procedures while ensuring compliance with CIBC requirements, standards, work practices, processes, security standards, and records retention policies.
You will use independent judgement to provide guidance to project teams, applying a comprehensive, conceptual, and practical understanding of records management to a wide range of business and technical situations while analyzing business performance. In this role your will participate in risk management and cost optimization projects, supporting the execution of a satisfactory risk plan that incorporates successful audit, continuous audit, and monitoring of records management practices. Additionally, you will ensure that records are properly classified, stored, protected, and disposed of in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements, supporting CIBC’s commitment to information governance and compliance.

How you'll succeed
Records Management Policies & Procedures - Work closely with business partners to gather and analyze complex records management requirements, facilitating solution design discussions to ensure compliance with information governance and regulatory standards. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen actively, and ask targeted questions to ensure records management solutions align with organizational and project needs.
Records Management Solution Design - Develop client-focused records management solutions that address business requirements for information classification, retention, storage, and disposal. Prepare and validate records management solution design documents, including scope clarification, records requirements, and quality assurance measures to support effective and compliant information handling.
Leading and Mentoring in Records Management - Support end-to-end project implementation as a records management subject matter expert, providing guidance to a diverse team of client-facing market team members, technology and project professionals. Foster a collaborative work environment and assist team members in resolving organizational, operational, and process challenges relating to records and information management best practices.
Records Organization and Documentation - Oversee migration of records from shared drives to SharePoint, ensuring accuracy, and compliance to CIBC's records management guidelines while also meeting the day to day needs of client facing teams. Create, review and maintain procedures and communication materials (e.g., records retention schedules, information governance plans, tactical deliverables, presentations) that support the accurate and compliant management of business records.
Records Management Communication - Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills to convey and present factual and conceptual information , requiring detailed explanation and interpretation to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.
Records Production Support - Conduct investigations and provide resolutions (with the assistance of developers when needed) for records management issues raised by the business, ensuring timely and effective support for information management systems and processes.
Who you are
You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, Records Management and/or a related field, and you’ve spent at least 3 years in a records management role, leading projects and designing solutions. It’s an asset if you have experience with SharePoint.
You have knowledge of financial markets including commercial lending and cash management solutions.
You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information. You're confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way. Must have experience using SQL, Azure Dev Ops, Quality Assurance, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
