Job Summary

Responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in the planning and designing of software and web applications. Manages projects from design to testing, including new programs, enhancements and modifications. Collaborates with Quality Assurance team to conduct testing. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

Summary

  • Responsible for leading multiple Engineering Managers and cross-functional software development teams within the Professional Services organization.
  • Oversees the entire engineering team across the regions and provides strategic direction on engineering execution, quality, processes, and organizational efficiency.
  • Manages teams that may include exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple domains or programs. Provides subject matter leadership and decision-making guidance to managers and senior engineers.
  • Has overall responsibility for setting and administering department‑level performance standards, engineering practices, team capability development, and delivery governance.
  • Defines processes and procedures that drive engineering excellence, operational efficiency, and predictable execution across multiple projects.
  • Oversees planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and technical strategy in partnership with product, architecture, and leadership teams.
  • Ensures teams follow engineering, quality, and security standards to deliver reliable, scalable, and high‑quality software solutions to customers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversees the planning, architecture alignment, and design of the software applications across multiple teams, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Provides guidance to Engineering Managers and senior engineers in identifying product, technical, and operational requirements. Acts as a primary point of contact between engineering and cross-functional partners. (PMO & Architectural)
  • Influences cross-organizational decisions by collaborating with Directors, Principal Engineers, Architects, PMO, and Product Leadership to drive alignment and engineering excellence.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the Global Engineering Practice, aligning global teams on engineering processes, modernization initiatives, quality frameworks, and security practices.
  • Leads and governs implementation initiatives for the Engineering Practice which will support on the quality, modernization, security and platform improvements for the Professional Services engagements.
  • Organizes and oversees major customer release, ensuring coordinated rollouts, predictable quality delivery, and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Owns departmental deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, engineering specifications, budget constraints, security requirements, and quality standards.
  • Defines and tracks engineering KPIs, operational metrics, performance dashboards, and periodic reports to senior leadership.
  • Drives innovation through adoption of AI/ML-based tooling, automation frameworks, and engineering accelerators to improve velocity and quality.
  • Ensures engineering teams remain current with emerging technologies, industry standards, cloud services, security practices, and tooling ecosystems.
  • Partners closely with global teams across geographies, ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and delivery predictability.
  • Reviews and approves proposals, architecture decisions, process changes, and any improvement projects relevant to the engineering function.
  • Manages and develops Engineering Managers and senior ICs, conducts performance reviews, drives talent development, and ensures performance standards are met across all teams.
  • Exercises consistent independent judgment and discretion in identifying, resolving, and escalating matters of significance.
  • Builds a strong engineering culture by reinforcing collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Provides guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering and other teams.
  • Directs implementation initiatives for new software products and applications. Organizes software update process for existing applications and coordinates the roll-out of software releases.
  • Manages all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications and budgets. Implements performance metrics and prepares period reports and/or proposals. Monitors and tracks project progress and reports findings to leadership team.
  • Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
  • Provides leadership and direction to department personnel from lower-level managers to non-exempt employees.
  • Manages cross-project communications.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
