Job Summary:

Central 1 is looking for a Registered Plans Administrator to join our team. The Registered Plans Administrator supports the administration, order entry, and back-office operations of registered products, including RRSP, RRIF, RESP, TFSA, FHSA, and RDSP. You will assist credit unions, agents, and members, ensure compliance with legislation and internal processes, and provide training and backup support during absences or high-volume periods.

We’re looking for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a focus on delivering excellent stakeholder support—helping drive the success of the team and department.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Administer registered products including RDSP, RESP, TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, and RRIF, ensuring documentation and transactions received from credit unions and agents are accurate, complete, and compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Process daily account transactions, including account openings and closures, deposits, contributions, withdrawals, transfers, redemptions, dividends, maturities, and rollovers.
  • Maintain account records and data entry within wealth management and third-party systems, conduct account reviews, and respond to product inquiries.
  • Process in-kind transfers for select self-administered credit unions and support registered product data entry for subscribing agents.
  • Support the administration of government incentive programs (RDSP and RESP grants and bonds), including preparing and managing electronic files with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), reconciling payments, and resolving errors or rejections.
  • Assist credit unions and agents in resolving TFSA and FHSA rejection files and other processing discrepancies.
  • Act as a liaison between credit unions, agents, members, and ESDC to resolve issues related to registered products and government incentives.
  • Provide training and guidance to credit union and agent staff on registered product systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver back-office support by responding to inquiries related to product legislation, documentation, and account administration, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Support estate administration inquiries by verifying client information and providing guidance on documentation required for account settlements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of internal General Ledger accounts related to RDSP and RESP incentives.
  • Maintain accurate electronic client records, manage returned mail, and prepare closed account files for secure storage.
  • Provide onsite administrative support at the Vancouver office, including cheque production, mail processing, and assistance with account transfers, statements, tax slips, term maturities, and RESP certificates.
  • Support operational coverage and team initiatives, including projects, systems testing, audits, annual operational reviews, and other departmental priorities.
  • Contribute to Trust Services performance targets, including service standards and member survey objectives.

What you’ll have:

  • Completion of a two-year post-secondary program in finance or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to six years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in registered plan administration.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) is considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills, with general to intermediate knowledge of tax-deferred investment products, including: RRSPs,RRIFs, TFSAs, LIRAs, LRIFs, RLIFs, RLSPs, RESPs, FHSAs and RDSPs
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of service while handling frequent interruptions.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including experience with computer hardware, peripherals, and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe.
  • Understanding of provincial and federal pension legislation, including locking-in agreements, regulatory filing deadlines, and administrative requirements for registered products.
  • General knowledge of estate and trust legislation related to registered products, including administration requirements and tax reporting (e.g., T4 and NR4 slips).

Salary range: $50,000-$56,000

The salary range represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
