Maintenance Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Support foundry production by improving overall equipment uptime and availability through implementing a

robust preventive maintenance program. Train and assist maintenance technicians on all aspects of foundry

equipment and processes. Coordinate foundry equipment installation and relocations while working closely with the

production and continuous improvement teams. Support zero injury culture while directing all safety initiatives within the maintenance organization.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct day to day activities of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Communicate with production teams and plant management to sustain the highest level of operational efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment operations to ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are adequate and preventive

maintenance is being performed proficiently and according to schedule.

  • Monitor inventory of parts and supplies; requisition/order parts and supplies as needed.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, improvements and/or new purchases.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with interpreting specifications, blueprints and work orders and oversee all

troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures.

  • Support contract maintenance/installation work by outside vendors.
  • Maintain all business-critical records, documents and blueprints for maintenance assets as well as all associated documentation relating to all production equipment and ancillary systems.
  • Drive a maintenance culture that is focused on continuous improvement, positive morale and exceptional levels

of customer service.

  • Supervise the activities of the maintenance department employees to assure that each is properly instructed in

the performance of their work and the quantity and quality of work.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two year degree
  • Mechanical or Electrical background required
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
  • TPM experience including the setup of a TPM strategy and/or application of TPM
  • Foundry experience required

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Due to the nature of the products currently being manufactured at Viking Pump, we adhere to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In turn, we are only able to hire US Persons.

  • Knowledgeable of various types of equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, industrial electricity and mechanical control systems.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and act upon blueprints, schematics, and printed instructions.
  • Self-motivated and skilled in the following: organization, leadership, communication (written and verbal) and planning and root cause analysis.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
