Tessera is seeking a knowledgeable Maintenance Specialist to provide expert technical consultation and support for facilities, utilities, and equipment. This role is responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing operations and maintenance (O&M) procedures for new and modified systems while ensuring compliance with contract and NAVFAC requirements. The Maintenance Specialist will play a key role in inspections, testing, commissioning, and training efforts, particularly within NAVFAC Red Zone processes.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical consultation on issues related to facilities, structures, utilities, and equipment.
- Conduct site visits as needed to support technical consultations. During visits, ensure: Access is provided to mechanical, electrical, elevator, machine, and utility rooms. Access is provided to electrical or other system panels. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is supplied to visiting personnel, as required.
- Participate in and provide recommendations at relevant meetings regarding facilities and equipment, including design, planning, and project coordination meetings.
- Review and/or develop Operations and Maintenance (O&M) requirements for all new and modified assets.
- Attend and contribute to NAVFAC Red Zone meetings, acceptance of inspections, and commissioning activities, ensuring systems meet contractual and performance standards.
- Assist in testing and training activities for new or modified systems.
- Develop custom maintenance procedures for assets not currently covered under existing contracts.
- Receiving drawings, O&M documentation, and warranty information for facilities and systems under the WSBOSC cognizant.
- Attend training sessions for new systems, equipment, or facilities introduced by the construction contractor to ensure full understanding and integration into ongoing operations.
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
- 5-8 Years experience in Facilities Maintenance, utilities management or related field.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education allowed.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, elevator, and utility systems.
- Familiarity with NAVFAC processes, Red Zone meetings, and commissioning protocols.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and system schematics.

- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
