Job Details:
Starting Pay: $19.25/hr
Shift Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 3:45 a.m. - 2 p.m.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is specifically responsible for performing maintenance on separator and chick lines. This position could work in any department of the hatchery. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 300lb buggies, and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area). Working on elevated surfaces is required in some areas. This position works in a dusty, cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess basic math skills to keep accurate records. Must be able to use basic hand tools, operate power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed. Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT). The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Applicant must reside in a 50-mile radius of the facility. Days and hours may vary. To be considered for a maintenance position, applicants must have at least 1-year industrial maintenance experience or the equivalent certifications from a technical school. Must have the ability to fabricate by welding and cutting. Must be able to read and write in order to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program. Must have the ability to pass pulmonary function test to dispense chemicals and comply with OSHA guidelines.
Must have 6 months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months.
3-5 years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent to include Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Diploma.
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
