Logistics Specialist EMEA
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team and manage Huntsman Performance Product’s logistics operations across EMEA. This role will focus on managing Logistics Provider relationships, coordinating shipments, and ensuring all logistics processes run smoothly and safely. As we expand and optimize our logistics operations, we need an expert in transportation and logistics processes who can drive efficiencies and collaborate closely with stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Logistics Specialist EMEA, you will be responsible for:
Managing logistics operations across the EMEA region, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of chemical products
Managing day‑to‑day operational relationships with bulk and packed logistics service providers (LSPs)
Monitoring logistics KPIs and working with providers to improve performance
Acting as the main point of contact and escalation between Logistics Service Providers and Customer Service
Supporting clear communication and expectation management between all involved stakeholders
Acting as a functional expert for packaging‑related topics
Preparing and filing Prior Inward Consent (PIC) licenses with the European Chemical Agency for imported and exported materials
Identifying process gaps and inefficiencies, and proposing improvements to optimize supply chain performance
Monitoring customer order behavior, identifying trends, and managing logistics exceptions
Identifying exceptions in import order processing and assessing their impact on logistics operations
Overseeing transport execution costs and validating additional cost requests
Verifying and controlling logistics costs in line with SOX compliance requirements
Supporting automation and digitalization initiatives within logistics operations
Participating in and supporting logistics projects focused on process simplification, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements
Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or transport planning within an EMEA, multinational environment
Hands‑on experience in international road transport across EMEA; exposure to sea transport is a plus
Experience working with logistics service providers / forwarders, including performance monitoring, cost control, and escalation management
Experience with dangerous goods transportation is desirable; no certificates required
Familiarity with customs clearance and AEO is highly desirable
Proficiency in SAP and Excel for logistics operations (similar ERP systems are also acceptable)
Fluent English is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root‑cause analysis of delivery delays and logistics issues
Proven ability to analyze logistics data, drive results, and implement strategic improvements.
Strong communication skills and confidence in handling difficult conversations with forwarders
