About the position

The Logistics Process & Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting field operations training and process development. In this position, you will work closely with the HQ Fulfillment Team and Inspection Center Operations Teams to drive operational excellence through process creation and improvement, training program management, travel coordination, support ticket resolution, project execution, and the development and maintenance of training materials.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player with exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of supporting Logistics Field Operations effectively.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Process Engineering within the Logistics Operations Team at HQ. It is an hourly, on-site role based in Tempe, AZ, with occasional light travel required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serves as the point of contact for new hire Carvana-employed Vehicle Transporters (VT) in training. 
  • Manages Logistics VT Travel Trainers for travel accommodations. 
  • Coordinates weekly training class setup for VT new hires & Logistics Associate (LA) Loaders.
  • Locates and selects vendors to support process and training operations as assigned.
  • Leverages strong analytical skills to help organize data.
  • Collaborate with Network Operations & Field Operations on root cause analysis assignments. 
  • Manages ticket request portal associated with warehouse productivity, skills certifications & warehouse shift updates. 
  • Develops, maintains and manages virtual training modules. 
  • Supports management of Logistics Process & Training website. 
  • Contributes to ongoing projects and initiatives by implementing new ideas for process improvements. 
  • Supports management on necessary changes to assigned projects through project management software.
  • Provides support on development of new projects
  • Supports management of current project initiatives and maintains timelines to ensure project completion by set deadlines. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

What the job requires:

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years experience in a Customer Service role or relevant role.
  • Preferred candidate has 1+ years of practical experience in Maintenance or Logistics.
  • Preferred candidate has experience in Logistics Operations with knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance, FMCSA, and HOS.
  • Preferred candidate has project management experience of 1+ years. 
  • Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Ability to commute and work out of the Tempe headquarters.
  • Ability to work in an office environment, with extensive use of computers. 
  • Ability to sit for up to eight hours per day. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
