About this role

The China Logistics Manager role is part of the above market APAC Planning & Logistics team, supporting the business requirements of Diageo China. This role will be responsible for the delivery of 6Cs Customer, Cost, Cash, Carbon, Culture & Capability within Diageo China Supply Chain. Specifically, this role holder is accountable for end-to-end Logistics activities including 3PL management, warehousing & rework, last mile logistics, import/export, order management, customer satisfaction, Health & Safety. The role holder will ensure run and improve logistics service objectives and deliveries, with the right capabilities for our various sales channels set up in China; Distributors, E-commerce, Modern Retail.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving operational effectiveness and controlling the overall logistics operating cost through process simplification, productivity initiatives, and budget management.
  • Managing and creating value with our 3PL to ensure best-in-class operations according to Diageo Good Warehousing Practice.
  • Enhancing last-mile delivery and customer satisfaction by effectively addressing customer/consumer complaints measured via SAMBC.
  • Leading order management and guiding the Order to Cash team as the primary contact for customers and the commercial team.
  • Identifying and mitigating operational risks through leading and predictive indicators (such as RCCP and D:C).
  • Building a sustainable logistics operation by fostering external curiosity towards opportunities and risks, and embedding a continuous improvement mindset with business partners.
  • Managing the carbon footprint and advancing the sustainability agenda to achieve the 'Society 2030: Spirit of Progress' goals, thereby protecting the environment and supporting suppliers.
  • Implementing Controls Assurance and Risk Management (CARM) and ensuring adherence to Local Regulations across all Transportation and Warehousing activities.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree at minimum, background in Logistics is preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Logistics activities, specifically in Transportation and Warehousing.
  • Good understanding of local China Supply Chain Operations.
  • Comprehensive functional expertise in logistics, covering warehousing, transportation, multi modal solutions, direct deliveries to retailer, 3rd party and supplier management.
  • A solid appreciation of the additional security requirements when moving excise products is preferable.
  • Fluent in English.
  • SAP system knowledge as mandatory.
  • Lean production background and integrated working system experience.
  • Root Cause Problem-Solving.
  • Continuous improvement background and skill set.
  • Experience in contract development, defining SLAs, processes, tools and KPIs.
  • Strong drive to improve and challenge status quo.
  • Good stakeholder management, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Practical outlook with pragmatic decision-making abilities.
