The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $62,066.00 to $69,625.00.

This position is Exempt under the FLSA.

The Logistics Administration Supervisor manages the department’s equipment, fleet, inventory, and provides direction and oversight to of the equipment unit staff within Juvenile Probation.

Position Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible court, legal, logistics, or probation experience including two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience. 

OR

Combined Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Supervisory practices and principles.

  • Implementing and managing administrative and logistics functions, goals, policies, and procedures within an organization.

  • Budgeting and accounting practices.

Skill in:

  • Supervising and evaluating assigned staff and coordinating the work of subordinates.

Essential Job Tasks

(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)

  • Monitors daily operations of the equipment unit to ensure goals and objectives of the department are being met.

  • Supervises, organizes, assesses, and evaluates the workload of staff, and makes modifications to staff assignments as necessary.

  • Interviews, hires, trains, mentors, ensures completion of mandated COJET training, evaluates the performance of assigned staff, and develops performance management plans.

  • Establishes performance goals and objectives for annual performance evaluations.

  • Prepares internal and external management information reports regarding revenue, workload, caseload, and service level trends and develops standardized procedures relating to report generation and data control.

  • Review and assess requests for feasibility, needs, and compliance with policy.

  • Manage a budget of $XX of supplies and equipment.

  • Prepares purchase requisitions, orders supplies, and tracks department expenditures for supplies.

  • Coordinates the preventative maintenance of all fleet and ordering of all new vehicles.

  • Liaises with the Maricopa County Risk Department and fire departments for inspections.

  • Maintains a comprehensive inventory of all equipment and supplies including regular physical counts of firearms, body armor, radios, and other fixed assets. 

  • Orders and maintains all safety equipment and schedules refitting and refreshes.

  • Provides support for facilities projects and other special projects, as assigned.

  • Serves as liaison with Court Technology Services (CTS) for all technology needs.

  • Conducts unit meetings on a regular basis with staff, attends department meetings, and leadership meetings, as required.

  • Participates in committees or works on special projects and provides input to internal and external agencies.

  • Provides regular onsite or in-person supervision to assess business needs by observation, by monitoring group dynamics with face-to-face interaction and through the use of body language/nonverbal communication, engages in interpersonal bonding, and models expected behaviors.

Working Conditions: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County participates in the State Retirement systems ASRS or PSPRS. As such, mandatory membership for all full-time employees includes payroll deducted contributions consistent with each retirement system's requirements. The current contribution rate for ASRS is 12.27% and the current contribution rate for PSPRS is 5.84% and up for the defined contribution plan and 8.82% for the defined benefit plan. Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County.  This position may be reassigned to other locations.  Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
