MUFG, a globally respected financial institution, is seeking Loan Product Specialist Assistant Vice President to join their London office. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to become a subject matter expert within the Loans Middle Office, where your expertise will be valued and your voice heard. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate management of loan facilities, working closely with Front Office teams and key stakeholders to deliver seamless operational support. What you'll do:

  • Review loan agreements from an operational perspective to ensure all facility mechanics can be fully supported by internal systems and processes.
  • Provide clear feedback to Front Office colleagues on draft agreements, helping shape final facility details for optimal operational delivery.
  • Assess draft loan agreements against internal credit approvals to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
  • Onboard new facilities into Loan IQ efficiently so that drawdowns can proceed without delay or error.
  • Extract key triggers from loan documentation to enable proactive event management throughout the loan trade cycle.
  • Input facility data accurately upon signing or activation of agreements, including creation of credit lines and collateral records in core banking systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOX processes related to deal origination, maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability at every stage.
  • Proactively manage the pipeline of deals approaching closure, checking work across the team for consistency and completeness.
  • Monitor daily triggers in Loan IQ to update internal books promptly, supporting precise financial reporting on credit matters such as commitments.
  • Build strong communication channels with deal teams and stakeholders for successful onboarding into Loan IQ while resolving queries or escalating issues as needed.

What you bring:

  • Experience working within a Financial Institution Middle Office or Control function is essential for success in this role.
  • Operational knowledge of loan products combined with administrative expertise in the loan market is required.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing loan agreements from an operational perspective is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for building effective relationships with stakeholders across departments.
  • A proactive approach coupled with motivation ensures timely completion of tasks and resolution of issues within the team.
  • The ability to operate with urgency while prioritising workloads appropriately is crucial given tight deadlines and high volumes.
  • Sound judgement supported by strong decision-making abilities enables you to balance risk with opportunity effectively.
  • A structured and logical approach underpins your work style, ensuring accuracy even when managing large workloads.
  • Exceptional attention to detail supports precise data input and compliance with regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) is expected; additional language skills are advantageous.
