The Litigation Paralegal role at Greening Law Firm is designed for an A-player ready to make a significant impact. This is a high-impact role designed to elevate the litigation team.. This position is integral to supporting our mission of delivering strong legal results for personal injury victims. This role is focused exclusively on litigation matters. Pre-litigation, intake, and administrative functions are handled by dedicated team members. By managing a demanding litigation docket and pushing cases efficiently toward resolution, this paralegal will enhance the firm's ability to secure compensation for clients, thus contributing to their healing and renewal.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Case Management: Oversee approximately 50 active litigation cases, ensuring all details are meticulously handled from discovery through trial.
  • Discovery Process: Draft and respond to discovery requests, maintaining rigorous attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Deadline Monitoring: Proactively manage and calendar all litigation deadlines, scheduling orders, and court appearances.
  • Coordination: Arrange and coordinate depositions and mediations, facilitating smooth legal proceedings.
  • Document Organization: Maintain large, document-heavy case files with precision, using the Smokeball case management system.
  • Attorney Support: Enable attorneys to focus on strategic decision-making by managing day-to-day case progressions.
  • Resolution Focused: Move cases towards timely and favorable resolutions through settlement or trial outcomes.

 

What we’re looking for: 

              

  • Litigation Experience: At least 5 years of personal injury litigation experience, with a focus on complex cases, not just straightforward 'wrecks and checks.'
  • Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to fully own and manage a litigation docket with minimal direction, proactively driving cases forward without hand-holding. Comfortable working under and reporting to a younger, high-performing paralegal supervisor.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Smokeball and similar legal technologies for efficient case management.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage a high volume of documents and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Professional Judgment: Strong discernment in distinguishing tasks requiring attorney input from those manageable independently.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of efficiency, case progression, and the role’s impact on firm profitability.
  • Professional Judgment & Client Boundaries: Maintain clear professional boundaries with clients while exercising strong judgment on when to involve attorneys.
