Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Learning and Talent Development, the Learning & Talent Development Specialist is a highly visible role that is responsible for the development, design, and delivery of learning offerings to address leadership development, professional development, performance management, staff engagement, and HR Workday Processes and Procedures for Montclair employees. The Learning & Talent Development Specialist serves in a facilitator role, collaborating with University partners across academic and administrative units to deliver robust and engaging learning programs and monthly webinars.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In partnership with the Director and based on identified learning priorities, design, develop, and deliver professional and leadership development offerings for University employees.
Evaluate and recommend delivery modalities (self-paced, online, classroom, job aids, videos, etc.) for learning and talent development offerings to maximize the learning outcome for the learner and return on investment. These offerings will meet the learner “where they are” in terms of their knowledge/skill level and workplace location.
Manage the Manage the Learning and Talent Development program calendar in LibCal, assign instructors, schedule workshops, and facilitate bi-weekly New Employee Orientation.
Serve as program manager and facilitator of a multi-phase, cohort-based, 3-tiered program consisting of: Foundations for Success @ Montclair, Managing @ Montclair, and Leadership University to provide managers and supervisors the skills to excel as leaders (communications, emotional intelligence, inclusion, project management, regulatory compliance, performance management, among others).
Design, develop, and deliver professional and leadership development sessions to full-time University employees monthly while building rapport with participants.
Collaborate with Human Resources colleagues to design, develop, and deliver Human Resources-related training offerings.
Analyze data results and provide a cohesive bi-weekly report of each learning program/session delivered, and consistently initiate training and development offerings to address skill gaps.
In partnership with the Performance Management Specialist, support the delivery of learning sessions to promote effective performance evaluation reviews: coaching, employee development, how to conduct an evaluation, how to deliver “challenging” feedback, and performance evaluation best practices.
Develop and analyze employee learning and development surveys through Qualtrics to enhance learning and talent development offerings and promote continuous improvement.
Ensure Learning and Talent Development courses descriptions, materials, media, and websites are current and up to date.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or university in learning, organizational development, or related field.
Minimum of four years of professional experience in learning, professional development, organizational assessment, performance and retention programs.
Demonstrated experience in instructional and curriculum design, including working directly with Subject Matter Experts on the design and delivery of online and hybrid courses
Exceptional presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, especially with problem solving and relationship building.
Experience analyzing learning outcomes and metrics to ensure learner needs are met and resources used effectively.
Experience managing and developing relationships with multiple teams and workstreams across various talent development initiatives.
Ability to facilitate and deliver high-quality educational solutions that meet learning objectives that are aligned with employee competencies.
Experience using learning technology tools (e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Canva) and project management applications such as SmartSheets with an aptitude for learning and applying new technologies quickly and effectively.
Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods and experience designing and implementing assessment strategies.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in learning, workforce development, organizational development or field relevant to the position.
Experience with assessing learning modalities and learning program design.
Superior skills with the Microsoft Office Suite to evaluate metrics, create presentations and learning materials.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and delivery timelines in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
Experience with diagnostic/assessment tools such as: ESCI, LVI, DiSC, CliftonStrengths, Strong Interest Inventory, and Myers Briggs.
Human Resources Certification (example: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
