Summary
The Mid-America Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) at the Partnerships in Prevention Science Institute located within the College of Health and Human Sciences is seeking applicants for a Learning and Development Specialist.
The Learning and Development specialist will be responsible for completing tasks related to training design, coordination, and development as assigned by the Training Manager. Tasks may include but are not limited to training, training materials design and development, training facilitation and/or production, coordinating training logistics (i.e. date/time, location, technology/layout on-site, training facilitator, etc.), and working with third parties to collaborate on training/materials.
Example of Duties
• Assesses instructional need.
• Prepares training materials.
• Prepares, maintains, and operates audio-visual equipment, computer equipment and software and other educational aides.
• Solicits feedback from participants via surveys and other mechanisms to determine transference of knowledge and areas of improvement.
• Tracks attendance of participants.

• Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision
• Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode
• Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained
• Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate
• May lead projects of limited scope and complexity
• May provide guidance to students
This is a term appointment with annual renewal contingent on contract/grant funding.
This position is remote in Iowa and the individual must work from Iowa.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
