Position Summary:
The Wells Fargo Commodity Product Group is seeking an experienced individual with physical trading experience in the U.S. natural gas markets.
The individual will be responsible for overseeing the physical gas desk’s Northeast portfolio, managing its market risk from client business and generating trading revenue through market-making and physical trading activities, as well as partnering with the wider team in managing the overall physical natural gas portfolio. Generally, transactions will involve working capital and hedging solutions for Wells Fargo’s customers. In addition, the individual will partner in developing new relationships in these markets for financial hedging and physical trading in Wells Fargo’s geographic footprint.
Examples of common transaction structures include physical trading, park and loans, term supply and/or offtake transactions, prepays, intermediations, OTC financial swaps and options, energy reserve securitizations, and asset management agreements.
This team member will work closely with other members of the desk’s trading and structuring team to manage these transactions, including risk management, modeling, and obtaining customer flow through deal origination. Wells Fargo is one of the largest domestic lenders to upstream, midstream, and downstream markets for energy, so the depth of potential opportunities with current customers is extensive.
