Role Overview

The Lead PCT Engineer is accountable for PCT - related design, construction, and commissioning services in capital investment projects, PCT improvement projects, proposal projects, or similar ones. Starting from proposal preparation to commissioning, under the guidance of the Engineering Manager (EM) and Project Manager (PM), the engineer leads a team of internal and external PCT engineers to achieve project targets.

Critical Responsibilities

• As a PCT lead engineer, develop the PCT part in capital investment projects within the scheduled time, budget, and quality requirements in all project phases, following relevant standards and procedures. This ensures the high - quality implementation of PCT tasks in the project.
• Develop the design basis for capital investment projects, covering aspects such as defining the design basis, PCT system description, piping and instrumentation diagrams in collaboration with the process discipline, and instrument/electrical/control system specifications. This provides a comprehensive foundation for project design.
• Evaluate the technical needs of clients, transform these needs into functional and technical requirements, and then into engineering design input. Review feedback on improvement potential and assess the optimal solution considering technical, economic, and ecological constraints. This helps to meet client needs and ensure project feasibility.
• Establish a team of PCT engineers as part of the project PCT organization and propose a multi - discipline workflow. This ensures cross - communication (interface management) within the PCT team and among project sub - teams, including technical experts and operations personnel, promoting efficient teamwork.
• Implement PCT - related workflows, standards, and guidelines. Instruct technical personnel according to legal obligations and company policies to ensure a complete and consistent PCT design package. Also, implement Functional Safety and the PCT portion of Machinery Safety in the project, enhancing project safety.

Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in instrumentation, automation, electrical, or IT engineering from a renowned university.
• Core Skills:
  • At least 8 years of work experience in the relevant field of PCT design.
  • In - depth knowledge in basic and detailed design areas, including interface management with contractors, field engineering support, commissioning, and start - up of chemical, petrochemical, or related plants.
  • Proficiency in control systems, instrumentation, electrical and associated auxiliaries, digital plant automation structures, and CAE tools.
  • Project experience in leading or participating in projects as a Lead Engineer or PCT Engineer.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English, including technical English, enabling effective communication in an international work environment.
• Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of all relevant GB and IEC codes regarding the design and maintenance of PCT systems in chemical and petrochemical plants.
• Personal Skills:
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, work independently, and proceed according to agreed objectives without continuous supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
