Job Description:

Parsons are seeking a highly experienced Lead Field Engineer – Civil to oversee all civil engineering field activities for a large-scale airfield/airport development project. This role requires extensive expertise in construction supervision, site coordination, and civil engineering execution, including runways, taxiways, pavements, terminal structures, drainage, and earthworks.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in civil construction, with a strong background in airport or large infrastructure projects. The Lead Field Engineer will ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules while mentoring field teams for high-quality execution.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supervise and coordinate all civil engineering activities on site, ensuring work aligns with design specifications, drawings, and technical standards.
  • Oversee construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, terminal foundations, pavements, drainage systems, and other civil structures.
  • Ensure proper execution of construction sequences, materials usage, and workmanship quality.
  • Liaise with project managers, design engineers, quality teams, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor daily site progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective measures.
  • Facilitate field problem-solving, technical clarifications, and design interpretations.
  • Ensure all civil works comply with project specifications, regulatory standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support the QA/QC team with inspections, documentation, and approvals for civil works.
  • Conduct site audits and review contractor workmanship to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensure all field activities comply with HSE protocols and airport-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and site inspections to minimize risks.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among field teams.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site reports detailing progress, challenges, and resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate field records, drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Support management reporting with actionable insights and recommendations for schedule optimization.
  • Lead a team of site engineers, supervisors, and technicians to achieve project goals.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to field staff.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability within the field engineering team.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, regulatory authorities, and airport operations teams.
  • Resolve field issues proactively, ensuring alignment between construction, design, and project management teams.
  • Support client and stakeholder site visits, inspections, and audits.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction and field engineering for airport or large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience supervising runway, taxiway, terminal, and pavement works.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, regulatory, and airport-specific requirements.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with airport-specific civil works, including ICAO-compliant pavements, drainage, and airfield structures.
  • Familiarity with construction management software, reporting tools, and digital documentation platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced multi-disciplinary environments.

Summary:
The Lead Field Engineer – Civil will be responsible for supervising all field civil engineering activities for the airport/airfield project. This role requires extensive technical knowledge, hands-on site experience, and strong leadership skills to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of complex civil works
