Our Events Team in Belgium delivers large‑scale, high‑impact events for EU institutions, combining operational excellence, creative execution, and strong international expertise to run complex conferences, hybrid formats, and fast‑paced project pipelines.
As a Lead Event Specialist, you will:
Event Strategy & Leadership
Lead the strategic planning and execution of medium to large-sized events for EU Institutions, managing an event implementation team.
Translate event objectives into engaging, inclusive, and sustainable experiences.
Coordinate with internal communication management, creative, production, and technical teams.
Serve as the Event point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and strategic guidance on our event-related services, in collaboration with our Clients Services teams
Experience Design
Work with the creative team to implement creative concepts that enhance audience engagement and stakeholder impact, within budget constraints.
Ensure events align with client goals, offering competitive and innovative solutions that uphold high-quality standards.
Promote sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity in all event formats—physical, hybrid, and online.
Outstanding event services delivery:
Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently, ensuring the agency and the client get the best value for money.
Oversee external suppliers, venues, and local partners across Europe
Supervise day-to-day event tasks and provide on-site leadership.
Business Development
Contribute to the preparation of technical and financial proposals for tenders and offers.
Support the growth of our events portfolio through strategic input and market insights.
What We’re Looking For
8 to 10 years of experience in event organisation and management, ideally within a communications agency or EU institutional context, including 3 to 5 years handling quality control, budget optimisation, supplier negotiation, conflict resolution and leading event implementation teams)
A passion for creating and delivering first-class events and an interest in institutional communication
Proven track record in delivering both physical and digital events across multiple countries.
Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities with eagle-eye attention to detail, including handling events at different stages of production (Prince2 or PM² certification is a plus).
Client-oriented mindset, demonstrating responsiveness, professionalism, and service excellence
Familiarity with the Brussels event market.
Proficiency in tools such as Zoom, Teams, Webex, Interactio, Sli.do, Hopin, CVENT, Swoogo, and B2Match.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. French or Dutch a strong plus (additional languages like German or Spanish also of interest).
Curious about how AI tools can enhance event planning and delivery, as well as the challenges the use of AI bring.
University degree in a relevant field.
