JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
The Lead CAE Engineer is responsible for all aspects of CAE for multiple projects. It is an opportunity to develop skills and gain experience across a wide range of seating CAE disciplines, including crashworthiness, occupant safety, strength & durability, NVH and comfort. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all these qualities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support seating product development by conducting CAE simulations:
- Develop CAE quotes and project timing
- Plan and conduct FE analysis to virtually validate seat designs
- Coordinate work with colleagues in India
- Gather data relating to material properties, test specifications and set up
- Interpret results and draw reasonable conclusions to evaluate structural performance
- Apply analytical reliability & robust methodologies to optimize seating systems
- Effectively communicate analysis results, present conclusions and recommendations
- Maintain a library of completed project reports and documentation
- Identify and evaluate new tools and methods to improve efficiency and/or quality of analytical calibration
Basic Qualifications:
- BSE, preferably MSE or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Sound knowledge of engineering mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work in teams, and deliver results
- Ability to problem solve, make decisions within guidelines, work independently, set and handle multiple priorities
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with diverse teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with FE pre and post processing software, ideally ANSA and META
- Experience with LS-Dyna solver
- Working knowledge of safety/crash regulations and testing specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience with FEM solvers, ideally LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, OPTISTRUCT
- 6-10 years of relevant experience ideally in automotive seating CAE
- Some experience with using Humanetics ATDs in FEA simulations
- Some experience with IIHS low speed rear Impact simulations
