Laboratory Technician

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for day to day batch release of industrial package gases (IPG), medical oxygen products and bulk products.

Laboratory Operations & Compliance

  • Day to day batch release of carbon dioxide and packaged gases in accordance with appropriate analytical test procedures and within customer requirements

  • Proficient in data entry, analysis, and the creation of certificates.

  • Ensure results are submitted accurately and within the appropriate timeframes

  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders with quality queries

  • Assist in the creation and review of relevant SOPs

  • Performing calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment

  • Monitoring laboratory consumables and supply gas inventory.

  • Participate in internal and external compliance audits (ISO 9001 & ISO 22000)

Method Development & Instrument Management

  • Partake in the development of new and existing analytical methods to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and expand testing capabilities as needed.

  • Conduct calibration, and troubleshooting of a wide array of analytical instruments and systems, including:

    • Gas Chromatography: FID, TCD, BID, DID, and GCMS-TD

    • FTIR

    • Basic Wet Chemistry

Emergency Support

  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (Mon-Sun) to provide emergency analytical support for urgent CO2 batch releases, ensuring rapid and safe product delivery to customers.

Are you a MATCH?

  • MSc or BSc in Chemistry, or equivalent

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in a laboratory management or supervisory role preferably within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or gas industries.

  • Demonstrable expertise in analytical method development, validation, and implementation.

  • Experience with analytical instrumentation, particularly those used for gas analysis is desirable.

  • Experience in ISO 9001 and a good understanding of GMP compliance is mandatory

  • Attention to detail, be precise in measurements and calculations to ensure accuracy and validity of results.

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • The ability to react quickly and effectively to unexpected challenges (breakdowns).

  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and fosters a positive atmosphere.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Competent IT and literacy skills.

  • FLT licence (training and qualification will be provided)

  • Manual handling experience (training will be provided)

Desirables

  • Experience in a gas industry

  • Ability to work under pressure dealing with multiple requests

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the daily requirements of the batch release
