Compensation: $115,450.00 - $121,824.96/annually (Tessera's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

Tessera is seeking a proactive and analytical Laboratory Services Manager to lead our Environmental Sampling and Laboratory Services operations. In this key role, the LSM will be responsible for overseeing all sampling activities and laboratory workflows in alignment with our contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will ensure that every aspect of our environmental sampling and analysis is executed with precision, efficiency, and full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Directs and manages the work efforts related to Environmental Sampling and Laboratory Services, ensuring tasks align with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
Ensures that all activities related to environmental sampling and laboratory services comply with OPNAV M-5090.1 Chapter 7, as well as other applicable federal, state, and local guidelines.
Serves as the Environmental Sampling Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), overseeing quality assurance tasks related to laboratory services and environmental sampling projects.
Acts as the subject matter expert for environmental sampling coordination, reviewing, and approving service plans, scopes of work, QA plans, and cost proposals submitted to the government.
Oversees the development and implementation of Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) to support both routine and specialized tasks.
Ensures all necessary training, documentation, records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), SAPs, QAPPs, chain of custody records, laboratory results, and environmental data are maintained in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Operational Excellence – leverages team and established BI solutions to drive superior performance results, e.g., capacity, on-time completion, backlog, quality, and customer ratings
Strong employee relations skills including servant leadership. building morale, communication, providing feedback, and conflict resolution. Collaborates with HR and Vocational staff. Competent in the timely and effective use of employee relations tools and processes. Manages by walking around.
Drives a world-class safety culture through leadership engagement, safety risk management, safety assurance and safety training and promotion. Model positive safety leadership behaviors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of experience; Equivalent combination of experience and education in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field allowed.
Knowledge and experience in environmental media sampling and analysis, including quality assurance for laboratory services.
Familiarity with the requirements outlined in OPNAV M-5090.1 and applicable regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
