The College of Dentistry is looking for a Lab Technician to serve in the department of Biomedical Sciences. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. What you need to know
Proposed Salary: $20.00 hourly
Work Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, TX, this an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Required Education and Experience:
Associate degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of related lab work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience in laboratory practices.
Responsibilities:
Equips staff with instruments, disposable supplies, and chemicals.
Maintains laboratory inventory/stockrooms and orders parts and supplies as needed.
Maintains animal reports and data files.
Disposes laboratory waste according to safety regulations.
Manages laboratory equipment and instruments in proper operating conditions and assists with special projects.
Ensures that procedures are carried out appropriately and issues are addressed.
Provides logistical support with computers in the laboratory.
Maintains updated trainings and certifications in laboratory safety procedures.
Attends and participates in departmental meetings or other meetings pertaining to laboratory matters.
Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
Maintains laboratories according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications.
Adheres to Federal, State, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) procedures, policies, and safety regulations
Maintains quality assurance manuals, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), validation of laboratory procedures, check sample program, and record control.
Improves and develops new experiments to be implemented into assigned laboratories.
