Your Role: Junior Video Editor & Shooter, Capital Buzz & Scroll Deep
We’re looking for an ambitious junior video editor who loves YouTube and wants to grow their craft inside one of the UK’s biggest entertainment brands. You’re developing your instincts for what makes a video impossible to stop watching, and you’re eager to learn how to nail the hook, build pace, and inject personality into every edit.
You’ll support the video team across Capital Buzz and Scroll Deep’s YouTube formats and shows, from pop culture deep-dives to format-led pop culture series; developing your skills while helping shape raw footage into polished, high-performing content that feels unmistakably on-brand for a Gen-Z audience.
This is primarily an editing role where you’ll also get hands-on experience during shoots and contribute to the creative process.
Editing & Post-Production (60%)
Edit original content for YouTube and social platforms, learning and maintaining Capital Buzz and Scroll Deep’s tone, pacing and brand identity across both shows.
Identify standout moments from long-form recordings for compelling short-form clips, developing your instinct for what performs on each platform.
Support the digital team and YouTube Channel Manager on thumbnails, titles and cold opens, learning what drives clicks and watch time.
Subtitle all video content to platform standards accurately and efficiently.
Respond positively to notes and feedback from Channel Managers and Content Leads, using them to improve your edits.
Begin to engage with analytics and audience insights to understand what’s working and why.
Shooting & Production (20%)
Assist with shooting video content across a range of formats, from studio recordings to on-location shoots.
Develop a working understanding of framing, lighting and camera operation, building confidence over time.
Support producers and presenters on set, helping to ensure the right material is captured for post-production.
Adapt to different production environments, from planned shoots to fast-turnaround social content.
Creative Ideation & Support (20%)
Contribute to creative brainstorms for Capital Buzz and Scroll Deep, sharing observations from the edit about what’s working visually and structurally.
Develop an awareness of trends, cultural moments and platform behaviour — particularly across the pop culture and internet culture spaces both brands inhabit.
Support producers and the Creative Content Producer in delivering formats and storytelling approaches built to perform.
Help with research and script preparation, developing an understanding of YouTube-first, retention-focused thinking.
Think Big: Get hands-on experience shaping content seen by millions across two of the UK’s most culturally switched-on digital brands.
Own It: Take responsibility for your edits, build confidence through feedback, and see your work go live.
Keep It Simple: Learn the craft of sharp cuts, strong hooks and formats that hold attention.
Better Together: Work closely with producers, the Creative Video Content Producer, presenters and digital teams in a supportive, collaborative environment.
In your first few months, you’ll have:
Delivered consistent, quality edits across Capital Buzz and Scroll Deep formats, building speed and confidence with each one.
Shown improvement in your edit style across both brands, applying feedback and refining your approach over time.
Supported shoots and contributed to the creative process, growing your skills across the full production workflow.
Embedded smoothly into workflows and built a reputation as a reliable, communicative team player.
Started to engage with performance data and developed an understanding of what makes content work on YouTube and social.
Familiarity with Capital Buzz and Scroll Deep’s video output, audience and voice, and a genuine enthusiasm for both brands.
A deep interest in pop culture and internet culture, essential for both shows.
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; any experience with After Effects, Photoshop or Canva is a bonus.
A storytelling instinct and growing understanding of YouTube viewing behaviour and audience retention.
Good editorial awareness and a willingness to develop your judgment about what’s right for the brand, talent and audience.
Some experience or strong interest in publishing and scheduling on social platforms.
Eagerness to contribute ideas and collaborate openly across teams.
Flexible, a great communicator, and a good sense of humour.
