Role Summary:

As a Junior Payroll Specialist CEE, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional payroll operations service across the Central and Eastern European region. Your primary focus will be on supporting payroll processing, providing outstanding customer service to employees and managers, and effectively resolving payroll-related queries. You will collaborate closely with the local payroll team, regional HR teams, and various internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.

This is hybrid work model.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Support the Payroll Manager and payroll team in basic payroll processing tasks and daily operations • Handle tier 1 (simple) payroll queries and assist with resolving semi-complex queries related to salary calculations, deductions, and benefits

  • Maintain accurate payroll data in systems, ensuring that employee changes such as salary adjustments, new hires, terminations, and other payroll-relevant events are properly processed

  • Ensure timely resolution of payroll tickets within required SLA parameters

  • Prepare statutory reports and submissions to statistical offices (GUS and other regional equivalents)

  • Consistently meet or exceed agreed-upon KPIs, SLAs, and customer service standards

  • Assist in building and maintaining payroll knowledge base for case management

  • Support month-end and year-end payroll closing processes

  • Manage and maintain payroll documentation and filing systems in the office, ensuring proper archiving and retrieval of employee payroll records

  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and audit preparations

Key skills:

  • Fluent proficiency in written and verbal communication in Polish and English (required)

  • Preferably, previous professional experience in payroll, HR, finance, or administration within corporate structures

  • Basic understanding of payroll processes and employment law principles

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data

  • Service-oriented attitude, consistently putting the needs of internal customers first

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel for payroll calculations and reporting)

  • Attention to detail and ability to work towards tight deadlines, especially during payroll cycles

  • Genuine interest in payroll and HR-related topics, with desire to continuously learn and develop

  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

  • Experience with payroll systems, Workday and ticketing systems welcome
