Position Summary:                 

At Illumina, our people are our most important resource. We are looking for a dedicated Associate Talent Acquisition (Assoc TA) Specialist to become one of them, and to help us find them. As an Assoc TA Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, attracting and hiring talents with the goal to fulfill business’ needs.


To be a successful Assoc TA Specialist at Illumina, you must be innovative and forward-thinking in delivering solutions for effective talent acquisition. The ideal candidate is familiar with social media and its applications in TA, possesses strong interpersonal skills, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and stays current on employment laws, regulations, and company hiring plans. The Assoc TA Specialist supports recruitment and TA/HR events, working closely with the TA team on logistics, scheduling, coordination, and documentation. The role involves regular engagement with Hiring Managers and candidates.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Recruit for all positions for Illumina Singapore’s Manufacturing and R&D sites located in Woodlands.

  • Work closely with hiring managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs for each position, and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.

  • Ensures a high level of candidate engagement and positive candidate experience.

  • Develop proactive sourcing strategies and work with hiring managers to identify the talent pool in anticipation of business needs.

  • Keep up-to-date on current employment legislation and regulations and enforce them within the company to ensure compliance.

  • Assess applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.

  • Work closely with hiring manager and HRBP to create compensation packages for successful candidates, and see-through offer closure with successful negotiations with candidate.

  • Anticipates and proactively communicates recruiting activity and status to Hiring Managers and Business Partners.

  • Manages, participates and contribute in TA & HR projects that helps drive efficiency.

  • Manages, liaises and executes career fairs, recruitment and internship programs.

  • Develop and implement marketing materials (both print and digital & graphic and textual) to build brand awareness for both internal and external candidates.

  • Leverages technology and tools to maximize candidate quality and personal productivity.

  • Support TA team in interview arrangements, monitoring and closing of reference/background checks, closing candidate records within Applicant Tracking System (Workday Recruiting) in an audit-compliant manner and assist with the onboarding of new employees.

  • Process candidate reimbursements.

  • Maintain all applicant information in the Application Tracking System to ensure compliance and audit-readiness.

  • Prepare and compile recruitment metrics.

  • Provides support to the TA & HR functions to handle a variety of related transactions concerning TA/HR policies/programs.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or a Diploma with relevant work experience

  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent follow-through skills

  • Proficient in sourcing techniques including LinkedIn, ATS mining, social media, etc.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Candidates with experience in a recruitment firm or in an in-house Talent Acquisition team specializing in the Lifescience, Medical Devices or Semiconductors industries are preferred

  • Adaptable and able to navigate within a complex recruitment model / environment

  • Experience in developing sourcing strategies and managing multiple recruitment channels to deliver recruitment targets within budget

  • Possess continuous improvement mindset and know how to maximize recruitment processes and procedures to provide best in class service to the business within available resources

  • Ability to deal assertively with conflict, and remain positive when under pressure

  • Independent and proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
