We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer with 2–4 years of experience supporting enterprise network operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to Juniper switches, Ivanti VPN, F5 load balancers, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, and Zscaler ZIA, while developing strong fundamentals in routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPN technologies, and troubleshooting. You will work closely with senior engineers to resolve tickets, perform basic configurations, support project work, and maintain documentation and diagrams. This is an excellent opportunity to grow technical depth within a large, modern enterprise network.
• Resolve Tier 1–2 network tickets and perform general troubleshooting.
• Conduct basic switch configuration on Juniper platforms.
• Assist with support for Ivanti VPN, F5, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, and Zscaler ZIA.
• Update network documentation and maintain accurate diagrams.
• Support senior engineers with project tasks, testing, and deployments.
• Follow established operational and change-management procedures.
• 2–4 years of experience in network engineering or network operations.
• Strong understanding of routing/switching fundamentals, DNS/DHCP, VPN technologies, and troubleshooting.
• Experience updating documentation and network diagrams.
• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Ivanti VPN administration.
• Basic F5 fundamentals (LTM).
• Exposure to IPAM tools (Infoblox preferred).
• CompTIA Network+ certification or actively working toward certification.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
