Job Summary: You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT (N6) of NMCLANT YORKTOWN VA.

Major Duties:

  • You will communicate strategic IT objectives across the department and ensure alignment with mission requirements by organizing, sequencing and prioritizing tasks related to IT implementations, system upgrades, and compliance with security standards.
  • You will provide technical guidance for complex system administration and NMCI management, ensure solutions align with organizational goals, monitor the adoption of new technologies, methodologies and recommend resources supporting growth.
  • You will facilitate problem-solving for complex technical issues, ensuring progress and quality control through compliance with technical standards.
  • You will support the NMCI Execution Discipline process to minimize schedule impacts from unplanned NMCLANT requirement change.
  • You will perform Contract Technical Representative (CTR) duties, interfacing with Commanding Officers, Department Heads, and contractors to ensure support is delivered as specified in the NMCI contract.
  • You will implement and maintain complex standalone computer systems to support ordnance mission requirements, including test sets and specialized equipment outside the NMCI contract.
  • You will serve as the Technical IT Advisor, interpreting computer and application requirements, providing advice, and recommending resolutions to technical issues.
  • You will assist with developing Statements of Objectives and Statements of Work, including providing feedback on change requests and project timelines.
  • You will build, maintain, and upgrade complex SharePoint site pages and web parts for subordinate activities.
  • You will monitor quality assurance and trend analysis, ensuring NMCI services meet customer requirements.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience administering complex computer systems in an enterprise network environment; performing system administration including configuration management and lifecycle management. Experience implementing cybersecurity policies and ensuring compliance with DoD/DON Navy IT security regulations. Experience providing technical advisory support and customer service for IT systems. Experience performing SharePoint administration; supporting contract execution including asset inventory, service delivery coordination, and other Contract Technical Representative (CTR) duties. Experience maintaining standalone systems outside the enterprise network.
