Intel Foundry Quality and Reliability is building a team a to tackle the challenges of enabling the Intel Foundry (IFS) . This opportunity combines the freedom and excitement of working in a start-up with the security and benefits of working at Intel.

As is typical in a 'start-up' environment, the right candidate will have demonstrated the ability to excel across a wide range of areas and in an uncertain and shifting environment. This specific opportunity will require a self-starter with applicable technical experience.

The Senior Reliability Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Qualification of manufacturing ramps to high volume, ensuring the quality and reliability of products and processes sustainably meet organizational requirements.

  • Specifies inspection and testing mechanisms, conducts quality assessments and audits, and evaluates materials, processes, and techniques used in production to confirm compliance to quality standards associated with products and production equipment.

  • Owns health and performance indicators for product quality and reliability that drive optimization of cost, ramp, and volume upside efforts. Drives continuous process improvement and proactive quality programs in the factories to develop a quality culture mindset.

  • Represents quality and reliability function in product engineering and product development forums and makes recommendations in design or formulation to improve system and/or process and product reliability.

  • Responsible for excursion management, change control, supplier audit, and driving supplier continuous improvement.

  • Exhibits leadership amidst complex and impactful MRBs.

  • Develops and implements systems and capabilities for early detection and containment of excursions, conducts risk assessments, and dispositions discrepant material.

  • Responds to customer reported issues related to manufacturing and provides engineering solutions to address customer concerns and improve customer experience.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must possess a BS/MS in Engineering or similar with 8+ years of applicable experience OR

  • PHD with 5+ yrs of applicable experience


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong familiarity or expertise in multiple of the following areas is a plus:

  • Direct experience working in a foundry manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in structured problem solving/excursion management/change notification/audit support.

  • Ability to balance between Intel's Priority and the needs of customers.

  • Experience working with external customers, including regular quality reviews.

  • Experience in process startup, process certification, or reliability risk assessments related to the device front end process or back end reliability experience.

  • Proven track record of results and execution in a tight schedule environment.

  • Ability to thrive in an agile and dynamic business environment, with a high degree of flexibility in taking ownership of diverse tasks and deliverables to meet overall business goals.

  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS), device physics, and semiconductor processing techniques.
