An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as an Inventory Control Specialist within the Naval Defense organization based in Peterborough, ON.

The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for organizing the day-to-day inventory management and will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory operations. 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the ideal candidate will split their time between system oversight and on-the-floor engagement, ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures, identifying and resolving system-related issues, and supporting the warehouse and production teams with real-time problem-solving.

This role requires agility, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership as you contribute to the smooth flow of goods and the overall success of our logistics operations.

 Duties:

  • Review Inventory storage locations transactions, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues to the appropriate business unit for investigation and corrective actions.
  • Track and report on expired or at-risk materials, working closely with the Quality team to ensure timely disposition.
  • Conduct regular floor-to-sheet audits to verify consistency between physical stock and system data.
  • Troubleshoot inventory system errors in collaboration with the warehouse, QA, and production teams.
  • Perform physical inventory procedures and cycle counts using material handling equipment
  • Pre-plan and identify future space requirements. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or combination of education and related experience considered an asset.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in inventory control management.
  • Microsoft Excel skills required; familiarity with Access, or other analytical tools is a strong asset.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated successful planning and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated successful ability working with cross-functional teams.
