Inventory Control Specialist

THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be reporting into the DC Manager, and will be responsible for helping ensure inventory counts are accurate and parts stock meets order pull demand. You may also be order picking and packing our products. Through digital and manual counting you will identify discrepancies within inventory reports, research and correct, and provide reports to the DC Management Team for review. Investigates shipping discrepancies and resolves with internal Branch management customers.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Manage and maintain accurate picking of orders using an RF Scanner
  • Audit Inventory Management processes for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain (cycle) count accuracy (digital and physical counting) and provide reporting to Management as needed
  • Perform system entries to maintain inventory and bin accuracy.
  • Ensure inventory records are current and up to date.
  • Research and resolve all keyed issues, adjustments, and discrepancies.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders.
  • Perform routine cycle counting of floor and stockroom inventories.
  • Owns bin location planning, physical preparation, system set up for new products and for optimal efficient location for labor efficiency.
  • Analyzes and reports on dead stock and damages and leads resolution.
  • Leads the Physical Inventory Process
  • Investigate proper delivery to location if not specified on order.
  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Assign work schedules, train associates in processes and monitor associates' progress.
  • Lead company safety initiatives and ensure a culture of safety.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a warehouse inventory role
  • Excellent organizational skills allowing for the organization of inventory and monitoring/improving the efficiency of storage and selection.
  • Familiar with data entry systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and strict attention to detail.
  • Will strive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds, stand/walk for up to 8 hours a day and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

Inventory Control Specialist

IMPACT YOU MAKE:

The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist tracks inventory changes, working alongside the warehouse workers. They perform duties including oversight of inventory control, where they keep detailed records of any changes in inventory or production and report changes to the proper department. They inspect inventory and take note of any damage or potentially unsuitable products and return defective products back to the supplier or dispose of them according to company standards.

Specific duties include:

  • Working cooperatively in a team within the warehouse to efficiently receive, verify, stage and stock incoming material to maintain inventory standards
  • Familiar with data entry systems
  • Through digital and manual counting you will identify discrepancies within inventory reports, research and correct, and provide reports to the DC Manager for review.
     

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
 

  • Knowledge and skills common with 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling and stocking 
  • Excellent organizational skills allowing for the organization of inventory and monitoring/improving the efficiency of storage and selection.
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable problem solving and decision-making using leadership and time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills along with outstanding people management skills.

     

WHAT YOU CAN LEARN OR DEVELOP ON THE JOB:

• Knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC, Bathroom and Kitchen products
