YOUR ROLE

As the Global Production Control & Logistics Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to optimize our logistics and warehousing operations, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient movement of goods across our global supply chain. You will lead a dedicated team of professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, minimize costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

The job provides high visibility inside the IS and Corporate Organization and is reporting to the VP, Production Control & Logistics for the IS business.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Evaluate E2E logistics strategy and optimize logistics and warehousing operations, aligning with the company's overall objectives and growth strategies.
  • Proven track record of effective cost containment while increasing global sales, productivity, and cost controls in a dynamic market environment.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize logistics and warehousing operations, aligning with the company's overall objectives and growth strategies.
  • Oversee the global movement of goods, including inbound and outbound transportation, distribution, warehousing and trade operations activities, to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics and warehousing operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse operations and logistics functions, leveraging data analytics and best practices to identify areas for optimization and innovation. Implement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and other external partners. Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in service levels and cost-effectiveness.
  • High energy, results-oriented leader with 10+ years of experience leading logistics services within world-class manufacturing, logistics or technology environments.
  • Proven knowledge and practice of all transportation modes, customs Brokerage operations and 3PL/4PL operations
  • Track record in implementing best practice and building highly optimized trade and logistics operations
  • S/he must demonstrate commitment to excellence, have direct and cross-functional leadership ability, and apply sharp focus on responsibility and accountability.
  • Possess a strong combination of technical savvy and strategic skills and bring specific experience in organizational transformation.
  • Demonstrate key functional competencies; strategy development and application, execution, planning, scheduling control, supply chain management, project management, lean management, enabling technology application, process improvement / six sigma.
  • Fluent in Big Data management and intermediate / advanced level in Business Intelligence application (ideally Tableau Desktop + Tableau Prep)
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role.
  • Understanding of current global trade circumstances with particular experience of Mexico and USA trade and logistics
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business, supply chain management or similar a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Logistics, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant area;
  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Processes (with preference for Operations, Manufacturing and Logistics related ones);
  • 10+ years of significant Experience in a Business Process Role related to Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing and Logistics;
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP and other relevant systems/tools, and relevant experience as a professional user in a challenging environment;
  • Good knowledge of the English language;
  • Analytical mindset, strongly process driven and used to view the performance through “process and people” angle;
  • Good working knowledge of MS office and integration with other systems;
  • Experience in a challenging automotive environment;
  • Skills and/or Experience as a leader & people manager in a global team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic understanding of Lean principles and tools;
  • Basic knowledge on Six Sigma principles and tools;
  • Curiously investigate everything – ability to solving problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively;
  • Learn by doing – an entrepreneurial mindset that’s driven by hands-on experimentation;
