Your Role: Brand Manager
The role of the Brand Manager is to build Elanco’s portfolio of brands with insights from the marketplace, and act as the bridge between our customers, our stakeholders and our products. The Brand Manager focuses on delivering competitive strategies and exemplary execution that will enable Elanco to succeed.
This position is responsible to drive implementation of marketing strategies and playbooks within the Canadian affiliate in addition to provide input and feedback to the international brand team.
Brand Managers consistently demonstrate Elanco’s Behavioral Pillars: Involve, Deliver, Innovate and Own, and a strong link to the Global Brand Teams (GBT), local Marketing, Sales & Technical, the Director of Pet Health Sales, Canada and the Director of Marketing, Canada.
Your Responsibilities:
Business Ownership
Manages OPEX budgets independently
Manages SKU level forecasting with financial liaison, participates in monthly supply meetings and S&OP meetings
Supports business plan process
Follows brand standards and acts on marketing guidelines and customer objectives from GBT (Global Brand Team)
Keeps up to date and provides clear understanding of relevant market dynamics and plays an active role in knowledge transfer to sales & technical teams
Strategy Development & Execution
Metrics/Measurement - Gathers data for KPIs and Metric analysis for brands and programs under the portfolio. Uses such information to drive continual improvements for the brand or programs as well as gain yearly program approval from pricing committee
Develops and/or executes strategies/brand plans- Works with strategic plans developed by Global Marketing for global brands, develops local brand strategy, creates and executes local portfolio strategy and tactics (with Sales & Technical) with considerations for both global and local strategic frameworks. Can independently lead local strategic direction for brands.
Leads pricing for launch brands. Provides input for yearly price increases for brands within the portfolio
Ensure that the marketing communications, sales strategies, and promotions are designed to attain sales goal and other commercial objectives (e.g. market share and profitability).
Work cross functionally to ensure programs and projects drive achievement of Sales Targets in line with specific objectives as identified in the annual brand and category plans as relevant
Connects with Global Marketing to provide shared learnings, feedback, and questions
Brand Development
Uses brand strategy/playbooks to localize campaign and messaging for relevant brands
Develops thorough understanding and insights on various communication platforms and channels, including but not limited to digital, print
Insights and Analytics
Gathers data on customers and competitors and the local environment to develop competitive analysis
Works with analytics team members as needed to gather data and develop dashboards
Gather and analyze market and customer sales data to develop a strong understanding of brand trends (including the competition) to influence brand plans and commercial planning forecasts.
Marketing Execution
Develops, and executes the brand implementation plan which includes – Omnichannel marketing, media planning (when required), customer journeys, and agency management
Creates promotional or educational materials, including steering through an electronic document management system ex. PromoMats
Manages PromoMats and other regulatory/legal approvals
Works with sales & technical teams to cascade messages and create training content
Presents marketing material and brand strategy to the sales team during relevant cycle calls and during National Business Meetings.
Work on programs that pertain to the brand and also to the broader pet health portfolio as requested
Build positive relationships with relevant internal (e.g. digital marketer, sales, legal, regulatory) and external customers (including but not limited to advertising agencies, key vendors, industry organizations/groups)
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Marketing/Business preferred
Experience: 4+ years of experience in Sales or Marketing (less experienced individuals can apply, pay will be reflective of experience)
Effective communication skills - both oral and written -, and able to adapt style to suit different audiences to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and influence skills
Exemplary team and individual work ethics. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and cross-geographical teams. Ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task and remain focused
Driven, action-oriented and disciplined
Business/financial acumen. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
Knowledge of PC package tools, including but not limited to: word-processing (Word), Spreadsheets (Excel) and Presentations (PowerPoint).

Additional Information:
Travel: 10% - Passport Required
Location: Work from Mississauga office will be required - 30 days per quarter.

Elanco Benefits and Perks:
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $67,000 to $112,000. The actual base salary offered may vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees. The compensation package is subject to change, and the actual base salary could be higher or lower than the range described above.
