About the team

The Supply Chain team owns the whole raw materials, packaging & all kinds of items (office/cleaning & kitchen) supply and its distribution to the chefs/fulfillment. It’s a high-impact role with the ability to communicate constantly between all different areas of CookUnity. Our customers use our digital experience weekly to find their favorite meals from our 300+ menu items, and the Supply Chain team is responsible for making that easy and smooth for the operation.

The role:

We are looking for a Food Engineer, Food Science professional or similar with a strong focus on ingredient sourcing and procurement to join our Supply Chain team. This role bridges CookUnity’s culinary vision with operational execution, ensuring chefs have access to high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective ingredients.

The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge of food production and ingredient standards with the ability to manage supplier relationships and identify the best sourcing solutions for our markets.

You’ll be responsible for researching and evaluating ingredient suppliers, verifying quality and compliance standards, negotiating purchases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support innovation, operational continuity, and cost management.

 

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact between the Culinary team and the Procurement/Supply Chain teams for ingredient sourcing needs.
• Source and purchase special, high-quality ingredients that meet CookUnity’s standards and chefs’ needs.
• Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, ensuring ingredient functionality, quality, and compliance.
• Understand ingredient specs, additives, and regulatory restrictions to support clean-label decisions.
• Work closely with Culinary, Standards, Procurement, and Quality teams to align sourcing with menu and R&D needs.
• Maintain updated trackers on ingredient needs, sourcing status, and vendor communication.
• Monitor supplier and ingredient performance and support corrective actions when needed

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
• Experience or strong interest in ingredient sourcing, procurement, quality, or food industry operations.
• Solid understanding of food ingredients specifications and food standards compliance (or willingness to develop this expertise).
• Advanced English level (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to evaluate ingredient specs and supplier information.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple sourcing requests.
• Highly organized, proactive and able to follow structured processes. High autonomy and ownership on goals to achieve

Preferred requirements (but not mandatory)

• Background or exposure to culinary-driven environments (meal kits, foodservice, hospitality, CPG).
• Knowledge of regional sourcing, clean-label ingredients, or sustainability-oriented procurement practices.
• Understanding of ingredient regulatory constraints, spec sheets, and documentation.
• Experience with **Monday.com** or equivalent project management tools.
• Interest in process automation and workflow optimization.
