Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented ICT Engineer - Aviation with 5+ years of experience to design, implement, and maintain Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in ICT systems, networking, and troubleshooting, who is eager to contribute to the efficient operation of our technology systems.

The ICT Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring seamless communication across all platforms.

What You'll Be Doing;

  • Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of ICT systems, including network infrastructure, server setup, telecommunications systems, and cloud services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that ICT systems align with company objectives and meet both functional and technical requirements.
  • Install and configure hardware (e.g., computers, servers, routers, switches) and software (e.g., operating systems, applications, security solutions).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Wi-Fi networks to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity across internal and external systems, including setting up secure VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
  • Monitor network performance, resolve network outages, and provide recommendations for network improvements.
  • Provide technical support for end-users, assisting with hardware and software issues, system upgrades, and troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions to system failures, network problems, and other IT-related concerns.
  • Ensure regular system maintenance, updates, and patching for both hardware and software to ensure security and system integrity.
  • Assist in managing and updating server environments (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, cloud systems).
  • Monitor IT assets and recommend hardware/software upgrades when necessary.
  • Implement and enforce IT security protocols to protect the company’s data and infrastructure, including firewall configuration, antivirus solutions, and data encryption.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, performing routine security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Work with IT leadership to establish security policies and procedures for system access and usage.
  • Collaborate with other engineering and IT teams to ensure smooth integration of ICT systems and hardware into existing business processes.
  • Provide input on system scalability, performance improvements, and innovative ICT solutions.
  • Assist with the deployment of new technologies, ensuring successful implementation and end-user training.
  • Maintain documentation for ICT systems, including network diagrams, technical specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Prepare and present reports on system performance, support requests, and security audits to the IT management team.
  • Keep detailed logs of incidents, maintenance activities, and resolutions for future reference.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in ICT systems, networking, and technical support.
  • Experience in configuring and managing network systems (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting hardware (PCs, servers, networking devices) and software (operating systems, business applications).
  • Solid knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS).
  • Hands-on experience with network security tools, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in ICT management software (e.g., Active Directory, VMware, Microsoft Exchange).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or equivalent.
  • Experience with server administration (e.g., Linux/Unix, Windows Server) and cloud-based systems.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework for IT service management.
  • Knowledge of VoIP systems and telecommunication networks.
  • Experience with enterprise IT systems and collaboration tools (e.g., Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
